China has obvious advantages in lithium battery manufacturing. In 2021, the global lithium-ion battery market size was 545GWh, China's lithium-ion battery shipments were 324GWh, accounting for about 59.4% of the global market.

In the process of the production of cathode materials for lithium batteries, it is strictly forbidden to contain metal elements such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) in relevant pipes and valve materials. If there are metal impurities such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) in the materials, these metals will first be positively oxidized and then reduced to the negative electrode. When the metal element at the negative pole accumulate to a certain extent, the hard edges and corners of the deposition metal will puncture the diaphragm, causing the battery to be self-discharged. Self-discharge will bring potential safety hazards and even cause explosion accidents.
